The S&P 500 futures are up 24 points and are trading 0.6% above fair value. The Nasdaq 100 futures are up 138 points and are trading 0.9% above fair value. The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures are up 130 points and are trading 0.4% above fair value.

The stock market is poised to open higher after yesterday's afternoon rally. A drop in rates has been supportive of equities, along with generally positive responses to a huge batch of earnings news. The 10-yr note yield is down nine basis points to 4.70% and the 2-yr note yield is down one basis point to 4.96%.

Focus will turn to Apple's (AAPL) earnings report after today's close. 

The Bank of England is expected to keep its bank rate unchanged at 5.25% later this morning.

Equity indices in the Asia-Pacific region ended Thursday on a mostly higher note. Japan's Prime Minister Kishida confirmed that an extra budget of JPY13.1 trln will be implemented as part of a JPY17.0 trln stimulus package. A former Bank of Japan official said that the weak yen could prompt the BoJ to end its negative rate policy before the end of the year. There was focus on a recent rise in interbank repurchase rates in China reflecting some liquidity stress. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority followed the Fed's decision to hold rates steady with its own hold.

Lufthansa beat quarterly expectations and reaffirmed its outlook for the year. European Central Bank policymaker Knot said that restrictive policy will have to remain in place for some time while policymaker Nagel said that the German economy will resume growing in 2024.
